The resources in the complete kit can be deployed in three broad development stages:

Facilitate Focused Performance Feedback

360 degree feedback is the best method to open up managerial performance issues and provide managers with independent views of how they are performing key responsibilities The PS Leader assessment captures feedback on 24 competencies (below) shown to be critical to leadership performance. This online assessment is administered through an account created for your organization only. Leaders are emailed invitations to participate in the assessment process and simply click on a link to complete their self assessment and assign other raters to provide them with feedback. The online system captures all the data and produces a comprehensive feedback report that can be made available directly to leaders (or) printed and distributed by the trainer for a facilitated coaching/interpretation of results. Leaders receive ranked development priorities with matching behavioral development suggestions. Raters can also provide (optional) written comments on positive or negative aspects of the leader’s performance.

Coach Leaders Individually or in a Group on Assessment Results

HRD Press will teleconference with your facilitator(s) to train them on interpreting the 360-degree feedback provided on a PS Leader report. Additionally you will have live Q&A support on leaders assessment results as needed at no charge. The Facilitator will also get the PS Leader Administrator’s Manual which covers the assessment process from the use of the online account through a detailed guide for delivering an interpretive session on PS Leader results. Managers will receive a Participant Interpretation booklet with their feedback reports to use during the coached interpretive session or to interpret results privately. The booklet includes development planning templates and advice on using the development suggestions that are part of the leader’s feedback report.

Provide Supplementary Competency Based Development Resources

Each participating manager will receive a copy of The Manager’s Pocket Guide to Leadership Skills which covers leadership competencies like delegation, leading change, communicating effectively, motivating, setting goals, team building, coaching, managing conflict and other competencies/behaviors that are assessed using the PS Leader assessment.

Each participating manager also receives a copy of Coaching Yourself to Leadership which covers 5 holistic leadership strategies that integrate competencies to build better relationships, become more emotionally intelligent, set the goals/mission, communicate assertively, and lead with integrity.

These two books will supplement PS Leader development suggestions and provide a better, more complete perspective on the application of leadership competence.
